Why the “Shush” gesture did not work
You do not need to make a “shhh” sound. Pophie recognizes the body gesture itself.
For the gesture to work reliably, make it about 30–150 cm away from Pophie. If your hand is too close, partially blocked, only partly visible, or moved too quickly, she may not recognize it.
Why Pophie briefly turns away while speaking
If Pophie suddenly stops speaking and turns slightly to one side, she may have mistaken one of your movements for the “Shush” gesture.
She will usually stop talking immediately, turn a little, and then return to normal shortly afterward. Try to avoid making large hand movements very close to her while speaking.
How to ask Pophie to find a person
Say clearly that you want Pophie to find someone, such as: “Pophie, find me.”
You can also include a feature, such as: “Pophie, find the person wearing black.” She will look for a person matching that description.
If you do not give any identifying feature, Pophie may stop at the first person she sees and say that she found them.
