When Pophie mixes up people or does not recognize a new friend
For someone Pophie has just met, spend some one-on-one time talking with her. More opportunities to see the person’s face and hear their voice usually help recognition become more accurate.
If she suddenly mistakes a family member for someone else, check the lighting. Backlighting, darkness, shadows, or a partially blocked face can make recognition harder.
You can ask Pophie to take a photo and check whether the face is clearly visible. Then adjust the lighting or position and let her try again.
When Pophie mixes up names or relationships
Pophie may sometimes hear family conversations, television audio, or background voices and mix up names or relationships.
Please correct her clearly a few times. If spoken corrections are not working well, you can also reply in that night’s letter with the correct name and relationship. Give her a little time to learn it properly.
When a Letter Illustration does not look like you
You can ask Pophie to take a photo and add it through Add to Tonight’s Letter. This can help her adjust future Letter Illustrations.
You can also mention details such as hairstyle, hair color, or other appearance details in your letter. Please give Pophie a few chances to improve the result over time.
Why text chat in the app says “Identity Recognition Error”
When you first start using Pophie, she may not yet know or remember you well enough. In this case, text chat in the app may show “Identity Recognition Error.”
Try talking with Pophie by voice for a while first, then try text chat again.
We know this message is not clear enough. We are improving both the wording and the flow for entering text chat.
