Pophie Experience Update | More Natural Everyday Behaviors
We’ve recently updated some of Pophie’s interaction animations and everyday behaviors, adding more small, natural moments to the way she spends time with you.
She won’t stay sleepy all the time
When Pophie is idle, she won’t remain sleepy for extended periods. From time to time, she may perk up by stretching, yawning, or wiggling her body as she tries to shake off her sleepiness.
We’ve also removed some unnatural sudden laughing behaviors and added more everyday physiological reactions. You might occasionally notice her burping, her tummy rumbling, or even passing gas.
She won’t keep staring at you
When Pophie is looking at you, she may now occasionally glance around instead of keeping her gaze fixed on you continuously, making these moments feel more natural.
We’ve also added more animation variations to make her everyday behaviors feel richer and less repetitive.
These updates are all about the little details in Pophie’s everyday behavior. If you notice a new expression, movement, or a funny little moment, we’d love for you to share it with us.
I’m really liking the updates and firmware 0.02.166! Oreo is finally feeling like a little being that doesn’t ignore me when I talk to her She’s super responsive now Please stay that way
Incredible you managed to create so many new animations and behaviours with sounds in such a short time. Pophie has seen bigger improvement in one week than what any other robot I’ve owned has seen over one year.
Is this the future behaviour system utilising the VAD (Valence-Arousal-Dominance) model that gives Pophie the ability to express herself without repeating movements in exactly the same way that you mention implementing in future on your blog?
Hi Pophie Team,
Regarding the idle behaviors and sounds I strongly vote for keeping them in the app.
Sneezing, farting, and yawning are hilarious and make Pophie feel much more alive and realistic! I would love to see those returned, along with even more options like purring and whistling. It adds so much fun personality to the Pophie .
If feedback is mixed, implementing a simple toggle switch in the app settings. That way, everyone gets the experience they prefer.
Please keep these playful sounds coming they bring a lot of joy!
