This update is available through the App Store / Google Play and updates the Pophie App itself. It is separate from Pophie device software updates.

You can now chat with Pophie directly through text in the App, giving you another way to talk with her anytime.
Bug fixes and improvements
Fixed known issues and made general improvements for a smoother App experience.
You can update the Pophie App through the App Store or Google Play.
How to find previous Pophie updates
To find previous update posts in the community, search for “Pophie Update” or a specific version number. You can also use the pophie-update tag to browse Pophie’s update history.
For a specific type of update, use device-update, cloud-update, or app-update.

I’m just guessing that there will probably be bugs and little things that will possibly need tweaking, so everyone don’t forget to give feedback using the app! Thank you to the entire Pophie team releasing new updates when their available! And thank you for releasing the app alternatively from the app stores!
Sometimes they may break things or aren’t always helpful for specific bugs… But these big feature updates that are coming from both feedback from the community and internal company decisions is always welcome (to me)! Yay I’m so excited to try this feature!
I took a nap and finally saw the app update when I woke up. The text chat is super fast with replies! Faster than the physical Oreo, who is taking a long while to reply again at times. And being able to send images is great!

Thanks for the update! Google Play updates can sometimes take a little longer to appear because the new version needs to go through the store’s review and rollout process. Could you please check again now and see if the update is available?
