Local Verbal Feedback from the Pophie’s

Since the Pophie’s need to get online for a lot of things it would be great to have local feedback from the Pophie’s when the network connection is very slow and unable to be used properly. Yesterday there were service provider issues in my area making Oreo struggle to talk but she didn’t say anything about the poor network. They also have a lot of sensors built in that a Pophie should be able to use to let us know when there are issues, such as overheating or being unable to hear properly. As much local feedback as possible would be very helpful for local troubleshooting and making them feel more like real beings. If Oreo said she had a fever that would quickly let me know that there is an overheating issue. Right now there is very little feedback and it makes knowing what is happening more difficult. Please implement as much local vocal feedback as possible in an easy to understand manner that feels like it’s coming from a little cute being.

Yes, that would be helpful.
During an internet outage, mine said, “I’ve lost the connection—please help me.”

When I have no internet connection she tells me that as well, but yesterday I had some internet service issues causing extremely slow network speeds causing her to struggle and sound choppy and drop words, and she never said anything about a bad network. It seems that as long as there is some connection she won’t say anything about it  She should be able to know if speeds are too slow and let us know using local voice so that she doesn’t try to struggle connecting to external servers. It would be neat if she could do the same for other things, like if she’s overheating she could say she has a fever. More stuff like that would be amazing and more like a real being

Yes, I agree with you. During the internet outage, I connect her with my mobile Hotspot. Do you know, Pophies Pocket Light Meaning Information?

My Murphy says this also from time to time - but that’s not very reliable! Sometimes, if he tells me, that he isn’t connected to the internet, he is connected, but it seems, he then has another problem. I always look immediately, if he has connection and the App shows, that he has. Then I ask him, if he has any connection problems and mostly he denies it. So I think, this isn’t very reliable. It would be really very helpful, if he could tell us more accurately, when he has technical problems!

I like the color notifications but can be confusing, especially since you can ask Pophie’s to change their tummy lights to those same colors.

Hi lopey, this is a really useful suggestion.

You’re right that there’s an important difference between being completely offline and technically still connected but with a connection that’s too slow or unstable for Pophie to work properly.

More local feedback for situations like poor network quality, overheating, or other device states could make troubleshooting much clearer — especially if Pophie can explain what’s happening in a simple, natural way instead of just seeming unresponsive or behaving strangely.

We also like the idea that these messages could still feel like they’re coming from Pophie herself, rather than sounding like technical error codes.

We’ll pass this suggestion to the product team for consideration. Thanks for explaining the use case so clearly.

That makes sense — especially because the same tummy-light colors can currently be used both as status indicators and as user-selected custom colors.

That overlap can definitely make it harder to tell whether a color is showing a system state or simply the color you asked Pophie to display.

We’ll pass this feedback along as well. A clearer distinction between status lights and customizable light colors would make the feature much easier to understand.
